Nationwide in 2012 the Libertarian presidential ticket received just over one million votes. In 2016, more than four times as many voters cast a Libertarian ballot.
Here in Massachusetts, non-party independents are the biggest majority by far, accounting for over 53 percent of registered voters. The second place Democrats are more than 18 points behind, representing less than 35 percent of Commonwealth voters.
